5 Ways to Save your Budget

Make a Budget and Stick to it

I am trying the 50/20/30 plan. Basically with this plan, 50% of income goes to necessities, 20% to long term savings, and 30% to lifestyle choices. If you try to put too much away extra each paycheck, I noticed I find myself reaching for more in my saving before the next paycheck. So sticking with only 20% each paycheck, it's an easy plan.

Change Auto Insurance

I know that when I get quotes sent to me they change all the time. I haven't been in an accident or had a ticket in about 6 years, why was I paying $120 a month for car insurance?! It doesn't hurt you to check other insurers now and again. It may actually pay off in the long run.

Saving on Personal Care/Memberships

Making your own items to spruce up your personal care. DIYs are not only cost efficient but can be fun to make! Here are a lot of DIYs I've done to help you with some ideas! Don't buy that gym membership, when you know you'll never end up going. Coffee and the gym are the two common ways people waste money, that is why I cut both! Well, errr not so much the coffee, but more rather, going to get coffee from cafes.

Cancel those unused subscriptions to those newspapers/magazines you don't read anymore. The make-up trials that you have too much of? Yeah, cancel that too.

Don't cut the Entertainment!

Don't want to pay an arm and leg at the movies? Go during the day time! I just went to the movies this past weekend, I paid $15. On a weekend night, I would have paid $48! Smuggling in the snacks help too (But you didn't hear that from me) Don't have a Netflix account? Split the payment with a friend! (or two) You both reap benefits and spend half as much. Groupon is also the best way to save on your Entertainment needs. I LOVE using them for everyday outings.

Couponing

I have not couponed in a while, but I recently just met a great blogger that got me started again. It's the best to to save on your groceries and other accessories like toothpaste, deodorant, etc. Plus, who doesn't love free stuff? She will be a guest blogger soon!

What do you do to Save your Budget? I'd love to hear some ideas!
