M&M Rice Krispies Treats

I made these for Easter but they can be modified to any holiday! For example replace the pastel M&Ms for red and white or Fourth of July! =)

What you'll need;
  1. 6 cups of rice krispies
  2. 3 tablespoons of butter (smart balance)
  3. 4 cups of mini marsh-mellows/or 1 bag of large marsh-mellows
  4. 1 bag of pastel colored M&Ms
Melt butter in sauce pan over low heat. Stir in marsh-mellows until they are melt. Remove from heat. Add rice krispies and m&ms. Stir until it becomes gooey. Put the rice krispies in a non-stick pan & let cool then enjoy!

Spoiled by grandma

Ever since Josiah was little I always assumed he would have "ADHD" because he is very rambunctious and energetic, to say the least. Although I don't have written confirmation from a doctor, his doctor at his two year old check up, thought so too. She said that I should put him on medication. Is that right? I'm not giving my two year old medication that will make him a zombie!

He is 4 now. I still can't tell whether it would be ADHD, ADD or maybe just spoiled?  It could very well be all three! He typically doesn't forget things, but he does get distracted VERY easily, especially when the topic at hand is not something he wants to discuss. But what four year old doesn't?!
Funny Mom Ecard: Mom, I'm sorry for everything I did as a kid. Will you PLEASE take off the curse that my kids are going to be 10x worse than me?!

He most often tells me that he doesn't love me. (Actually any one) This is when I tell him to do something he doesn't want to do, or if I don't buy him that toy he wanted in the store. Is that not crazy?! I'm trying to teach him that you can't always get what you want.

Being spoiled definitely controls his actions. He gets very angry when he doesn't get his way. I blame it on his grandma.

YUP..

..straight like that..

When she comes back from any store, she has something for him. Now every time we're in a store, he expects someone to buy him something! That is when he gets really mad.

He tells us all the time, he doesn't act like that when he is in school. He once before back when he started school that he hated Ms Buchanan (his pre-school teacher). I'm sure it was because she MADE him listen. She tells me here and there that he "acts up" sometimes but for the most part.. he doesn't now. If I could get just that structure here at home, we would be OK!!! Damn Grandma's. I only hope for Josiah's sake, that he will be soon old enough to realize that only grandma can be manipulated and not every one in this world. And pray that that will calm him down.

I always thought that I had ADHD. I mean, in school I couldn't concentrate for nothin and never could keep still. I still to this day shake my leg while sitting down for a long period time or even just 15 minutes. My mind also wanders off. So I just took this test -

Serious ADHD Likely!

I guess they told me!! HA! I just wish I could get Josiah to answer these type of questions and get inside his head!

Is there even a such thing as ADHD? I mean really?! I want to say he is just a typical four year being spoiled by grandma. Wouldn't you agree? Or maybe he does have it
Grandma, I got you this so you can get me what I really want this Christmas

Paper Plate Birdies

If you missed it, You can check out to make this Coffee Filter Wreath here!

Spring, Easter & Earth day all in the same month!!

What better way to celebrate by making crafts, duh!

We are making birds today out of paper plates! Super easy, cheap and very fun to make. And you all know I'm all about cheap and fun! All of this stuff you can find in your house, or at your local dollar store!

What you'll need ;
  • paper plates
  • googly eyes
  • construction paper
  • tissue paper
  • poster paint & paint brushes
  • glue stick
  • stapler
  • news paper (to cover your work table)
First we just used the poster paint and painted our paper plates.
We let those dry over night. So the next day we folded them in half and added the feathers (tissue paper) to the middle of the plate with the glue.
We then put the beak (made out of orange construction paper
and the googly eyes.
I cut a few thin pieces of construction paper, the long way, and he folded them in half to make the tail. He glued it on but then I stapled it after to guarantee them not falling off.
He made two of these. they were so fun. and letting him put everything on himself is so good for his fine motor skills. There's been a lot of that going on around here !

I may buy a vapor cig, any suggestions? That would be for my social outings with friends and my will power sucks, I'll have that instead of smoking one of theirs..

I have been procrastinating about cutting my hair! BUT I am so doing it this week! A long bob. For sure. Pray I don't look fat.. LOL

Mani Monday
Julep - Tatum
I don't normally wear these bright colors on my fingers but since I did it and I don't have nail polish remover, I will probably keep this on all week ;)

Happy Easter! ; Dying Eggs

We died eggs a few days ago and Josiah had a blast! He helped me mix the colors and basically did everything himself.

What you'll need ;
  1. Boiled Eggs
  2. plastic cups or bowls
  3. Food coloring (we used neon colors)
  4. togs or a spoon (to fish out or egg)
  5. Vinegar
  6. newspapers to cover your work table

Fill your cups halfway. Add a tablespoon if vinegar. Then we added about ten drops of food coloring. That is a great way to have your child counting. then drop your egg in carefully then fish it out when it is at your liking of color! We actually did the process twice an the second time, added a few more drops of food coloring to brighten the colors or the next batch.

Coffee Filter Wreath for Spring

It doesn't feel like spring anymore outside but we're going to change that today but making a wreath for our door!

These colors are sure to brighten your day!

What you'll need

  • paper plate
  • coffee filters
  • food coloring
  • paint pallet
  • paintbrushes
  • newspapers (to protect your work surface)
  • hole punch
  • stapler
  • ribbon for hanging

First we used the food coloring to make water paint in your paint pallet.

Josiah colored the coffee filters until he couldn't anymore..(this was a two day process since we needed about 16) We let them dry. It only took about an hour to fully dry.

He had a lot of fun mixing and making new colors.

After the filters are dry we cut the paper plate and punch holes. I punched four holes near each other to make a big hole.

You can either do this for your child or let him/her do this. I actually did this last and by that time Josiah's attention span was done. So I just finished this for him by scrunching the paper in the holes and stapling them in place.

Add the string/ ribbon to hang your wreath up and your all set!
