The Blogger Recognition Award

Thank you so much to Joelee at JoeleePost for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition award! It's such an honor and compliment to know that people are acknowledging and reading my blog.

It’s a really lovely award post that aims to find out a bit more about all those blogs you love reading, and ask those old timers for some advice for newbie bloggers on all things blog related!  I’m not sure I am very qualified to be dishing out advice, but I’m going to give it a go!  So thank you to Joelee for the nomination!

The Blogger Recognition Award: The Rules

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
6. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

How my blog started:

WELL! let's see, I technically started my blog about 6 year ago, I was bored at work and just decided to go for it. I would stay up all night (working) and read other peoples blogs. I followed so many and it's actually quite sad to see that maybe only one or two are still blogging. I just fell in love with all of the things I could blog about! My niche back then was manicures, diys and mom life. I changed it this time, because I grew out of painting my nails. You can see what I use to do here. Now I am starting because I want to make a little extra money-straight up! I know it won't be an easy road, but I'm willing to work!

-------------------

Now, I’m not sure I’m one to give advice, as I still feel like a newbie.  But I have learned a lot in those two months, so here are two bits of advice I’d like to pass on to my fellow bloggers.

1. Don’t Compare

When I first starting blogging, I didn't care about how many followers I had. I literally enjoyed writing those awesome posts about what made me happy. Now, I need to take my own advice on this.  I have a full time job, a 7 year old and a toddler. I know that you want your followers up and things to be seen, but one thing I've come to realize the past few weeks, is that I'm not doing myself any favors by counting numbers. Numbers aren't everything!

2. Don't be afraid to make changes and/or change direction

I will let you that I dwelled on this for months! I'd like to say for a year. My blog name was Manicures and Extra Sprinkles. I just couldn't get over it but in the years passing, I grew out of doing my nails. I had to change my name. I contemplated on keeping it but it just didn't feel right, so here it is! Love, Christin was born. Even now I'm thinking about adding the to caption. who knows! All I'm saying is don't be afraid to make that change!

Thank you again for reading! I want to nominate these blogs and I can't wait to hear there replies !
