We made crayon cupcakes!!
If your a mommy or a daycare provider, like my mother and I, you probably have a huge pile of broken crayons... I've always thrown them away but I found a new, fun and easy way to recycle them! =)Here is a quick step-by-step on how to do it -
Buy some dollar tree crayons. Remove the paper wrappers & break the crayons into small even sized pieces.. and put together with the broke ones you already have..
Add your crayons to the pan. It's probably best to use like-colored crayons or you'll get a lot of brownish crayons once the colors melt together but of course I experimented with the colors as you can see.. I used the muffin tray, with no liners and added a little pam..we bought the from the dollar store a while ago.
Put the pan into a 200-degree oven until you have little pools of "nasty crayon soup" Josiah called it... It took about 20 minutes for ours to melt completely. Remove from oven and put in freezer for a few minutes to cool completely before popping them out.
Josiah and the kids had a great time making these and now he can color all over grandma's table with these cute and fun crayons!
Wow! That is a really cool craft. We have SO MANY broken crayons at work, I should reuse them and do this at home. Thanks for sharing!
